According to the Sun Newspaper, Arsenal’s planned move for Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas is set to be hijacked by Manchester City. The veteran keeper might likely push for a move away from the Spanish club if his situation at the club does not improve and a move to north London might as well be on the cards for the Spain International and Real Madrid’s shot stopper. But if reports coming in from SUN newspaper are true then Manchester City are gearing up for a move to hijack him with a deal that would greatly interest the keeper and Real Madrid as well.
The Spanish legendary goalkeeper only managed a total of 19 matches last season after been dropped from the first team by the then manager Jose Mourinho. Ever since then the player has been unhappy with the lack of playing time he is getting at the club and a move with guaranteed playing time will see him consider a move away from the Spanish capital go through.
It was of the believe that the shot stopper’s situation would improve as people had thought that he had been supposedly dropped due the personal problems he had with the then team coach Jose Mourinho. However, despite Mourinho’s departure from the club, Diego Lopez has remained the clubs first team choice under the new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
It has been reported that Manchester City are in the market for a new goalkeeper after seeing series of high profile mistakes from their first team keeper Joe Hart. And it is thought that this move by Manchester City for a new keeper will either put their current goalkeeper, Joe Hart on his toes of totally oust him from first team action.
