Croaked Arsenal star featuring at the World Cup; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had earlier in the week trained alongside his England teammates. But the heavy strapping on his knee suggested a return for the do-or-die clash with Uruguay tomorrow was far from certain.
But now the 20-year-old midfielder who missed the Three Lions’ 2-1 defeat to Italy in Manaus on Saturday night through injury could be set for a return to action and can be available for selection for Roy Hodgson’s side as the Three Lions prepare for the all important clash against the Uruguayans.
The encounter which will be played at the Arena de Sao Paulo will see the Uruguayans as well as the Three Lions battle it out for their first win of the competition after both teams fell to losses in the hands of Costa Rica and Italy respectively.
The pace and energy of the Arsenal and England attacker was missed in their earlier opening match against the Azurri’s with many England fans unhappy that the 20-year-old had to seat out the match after he strained a medial ligament in his right knee during England’s 2-2 friendly draw against Ecuador on June 4.
But now his rehabilitation from the problem sustained in Miami is going well with Oxlade-Chamberlain having begun sprinting again last week and now joining his team-mates earlier this week at England’s Urca military base.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has now revealed a picture of his recovery process via his official account on popular social media outlet Instagram.
