Arsenal’s multitalented right-back Hector Bellerin who is currently enjoying life at Arsenal has emerged as a target for Spanish giants Barcelona.
The young Spaniard admitted, that he is lucky to be at Arsenal after opting out of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy in 2011.
Bellerin has settled well this season after successfully replacing injured first choice right-back, Mathieu Debuchy, in the Gunners’ defence. And now looks like a gem that Arséne Wenger seems to have uncovered yet again from Catalonia.
Hector who turned 20 recently has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season. The pacy youngster capped it up with a superb opening goal in the 4-1 thrashing of top-four rivals Liverpool at the Emirates last weekend.
The defender while speaking to Arsenal Player, said that he is very happy at Arsenal because young players are given a chance in the first team and believes the family atmosphere at the club and Wenger’s faith in young players has been just as important in his development.
“We’re all a team, the [senior players] have helped me since the beginning and are my family,” Bellerin said.
“They are all really good people.”
“They have been young players as well so they help you in everything they can, they make you feel like one more in the dressing room.”
“That is really important, and as you get older that is what you need to do with younger players.”
“There always has to be a transition between older players and the younger players. We are lucky at this club, young players get the opportunities and it is important that you take them.”
“That is the way to get a place in the team and I am just really happy to be getting my minutes.”
“Every single minute you play is like training, it helps you a lot and it gives you experience. With the back up of the players I have around me, it makes you look good as well.”
“I will just work hard at training and try to improve myself, so I am glad people are seeing this improvement.”
“I feel really comfortable right now, like one more in the team and that is something that you need to have if you really want to understand players in the game.”
Bellerin according to the Daily Star, has emerged as a target for Barcelona after his outstanding performances in recent weeks and would come in as a replacement for the outgoing Dani Alves.
However, going by the quotes from Bellerin, the Spaniard is very happy at Arsenal and so it is unlikely that he would walk away from the Emirates back to his home town club any time soon.
