Arsenal have been handed a further boost and have moved closer to the signing of prime summer target.
According to the Metro, Petr Cech will reportedly tell Chelsea that he wants to join Arsenal this summer in order to keep his family in London.
The 33-year-old is set to leave Stamford Bridge after an 11-year stint with the club, and is understood to be keen on staying put in the capital, where both his children go to school.
It has been reported earlier that Arsenal have opened talks to sign the Chelsea veteran ahead of next season, with some going as far as claiming Cech is “99 per cent” certain that he’ll join Arsenal this summer.
The £120,000-a-week star has already confirmed he’ll be looking for a new challenge after losing his first team place to Thibaut Courtois last season.
Although a deal of around £10million has been touted in recent weeks, the decision over his move to Arsenal is said to be left to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, instead of manager Jose Mourinho.
However, it is claimed that the Czech International is ready to push through his request to join Arsenal.
