According to reports, Manchester United have joined the race to sign Manchester City Midfielder James Milner.
There are list of top clubs in England also interested in the 5ft 9 inch 29 years old midfielder including Liverpool, Arsenal and now Manchester United.
Among the teams interested in the versatile midfielder, Liverpool have been touted as the club to land the signature of the free agent this summer, as a replacement for the LA Galaxy bound Steven Gerrard.
Milner who has a total 147 caps for Manchester City and has scored a total of 13 goals since joining the Etihad outfit has be seen a perfect replacement for Liverpool veteran Steven Gerard who is set to leave Anfield this summer.
However, according to Mirror, City’s fierce rivals United have made their move; with it claimed executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has approached the player’s representatives with regards to a summer switch to Old Trafford.
With United finishing fourth in the just concluded season, it’s only wise for Louis Van Gaal to look for players with class and experience in other to strengthen his side ahead of their return to the UEFA Champions League.
However, Arsene Wenger’s interest in landing Milner cannot be ruled out as there are possibilities the English international would want to sign for a team who can offer him direct Champions League action next season, something only Arsenal can guarantee him at the moment.
