Arsenal are set to be handed a transfer blow as Manchester City plot to steal Gunners summer transfer target.
This report is according to Calciomercato, who claim that City are close to the signing of Torino defender Kamil Glik.
Arsenal and Manchester United are in search for quality defenders to bolster their squad ahead of next season; And United boss Louis van Gaal has singled out the 6 ft 3 inch Arsenal target as one of such requirements in the summer.
It is understood that both Arsene Wenger and van Gaal have been promised huge transfer funds to go about their transfer business this summer.
The Red Devils where reportedly leading the race to sign Glik for a fee of around £7.2 million, according to popular Italian paper Tuttosport.
While Arsenal where also said to be close to agreeing a deal with Torino for the defender.
However, fresh reports according to Calciomercato say that the Citizens have joined in the race for the Pole and are ready to pay around £11m for the former Real Madrid man.
Fellow north London rivals Tottenham have also been credited with an interest for the centre-back who has made over 120 appearances for Torino since joining in 2011.
Glik is said to be decent defender and would add quality to any team, but do Arsenal really need a centre-back this summer?
