Arsenal are reportedly on the lookout for top quality players ahead of next season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push next season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best in the summer to achieve his target.
Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in the summer, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
The Metro has reported that Arsenal are close to agreeing deal for two German stars.
The Gunners are reportedly willing to complete the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes.
Gundogan has just one year left in his contract at the Signal Iduna Park and is expected to leave the club in the summer with Manchester United also interested in the player, but reports in Germany are claiming that the Gunners are still plotting to a £25million last ditch attempt to sign the player from United’s grasps.
Howedes also, has been mooted to make the switch to the Emirates and could replace Nacho Monreal, who is set to leave the club this summer. And the player would reportedly cost the Gunners around £15million.
