Arsenal’s search for a replacement for Nacho Monreal has led them to the path of one of Premier League’s upcoming talent.
Wenger wants to find a good replacement for Nacho Monreal, who could leave the club this summer, after finding himself as a hot target for several Spanish clubs.
Arsenal are reportedly preparing a £5 million offer to Hull City for their exciting young left-back, Andrew Robertson, according to the Express.
The 21 year old Scottish youngster has caught the eye in England after a couple of very revealing performances in the just concluded season, attracting the praise of quite a good number of persons in the game.
Robertson moved to Hull last summer from Dundee United for about £2.85 million and his outings for Steve Bruce’s side last campaign have already got Arsene Wenger pondering over a move for him.
His current manager surely rates him so highly, expressing his astonishment at how quickly the lad has ridden above expectations.
“Andrew has totally and utterly shocked me with his ability to play at the highest level” Bruce said.
“We’ll make sure we keep his feet on the ground because he’s a fantastic talent. He’s a humble lad who just wants to play football and that’s quite refreshing these days.”
Scotland captain, Darren Fletcher, as well as Hull City’s Robert Snodgrass have also applauded Robertson, the latter branding him as “one of the best attacking full-backs” he’d ever seen.
This gives the suggestion as to the brilliance of the Glasgow-born defender, as to his ability to join the attack while keeping true to his defensive duties.
