Arsenal have been handed a massive transfer blow ahead of the summer if reports from France that Real Madrid have entered the race to land key Arsenal target Geoffrey Kondogbia are to be believed.
According to Le 10 Sport, Real Madrid have joined Arsenal in the race for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
The 22-year-old Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 club in recent weeks after a very impressive season at the principality club.
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is keen on bringing the talented midfielder to the Emirates Stadium in the summer for a fee believed to be in the region of £25million.
The boss wants to strengthen his midfield and has marked Kondogia as an ideal signing to bring both competition and support to Francis Coquelin in the Arsenal defensive midfield area.
However, Madrid have also joined the race for the star, with the Spanish giants reportedly keen on signing either Kondogbia or Marco Verratti to bolster their midfield.
Reports suggest that Madrid will move for Kondogbia as a cheaper option, with Verrati valued at £45million by PSG.
