The summer transfer window can be said to have unofficially hit full over-drive with clubs making the announcements of various signings ahead of July.

Queens Park Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Bristol City midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.

Emmanuel-Thomas, 24, has a signed a pre-contract agreement with the R’s and will move to Loftus Road on July 1st.

The former Arsenal star – who bagged 12 goals in 48 appearances last season – has penned a three-deal with Chris Ramsey’s side – who were relegated from the Premier League last season.

Ramsey, who was named as Harry Redknapp’s successor in May, is thrilled with the arrival of Emmanuel-Thomas and has backed the midfielder flourish at Loftus Road.

“I’ve always admired Jay from afar, and I’m really delighted we’ve reached an agreement to bring him here,” Ramsey said per Daily Star.

“There was a lot of hype surrounding him when he was a young player at Arsenal, and although he’s had a very steady career since then, this is now a real opportunity for him to really kick on at QPR.”

“We’ll give him the platform to play and express himself. He’s got flair, he’s a good runner with the ball and he’s got great versatility.”

“He is already a very good player, but his potential to keep improving is fantastic.”

The former Arsenal youth academy star product is excited about the move and can’t wait to hit the ground rolling.

He said: “This is a new chapter for me and I can’t wait to get started here.

“As soon as I spoke to Les and Chris and they explained the way they want QPR to play, it was an easy decision for me.

“I’m here to come in and do a job and I’m confident I can keep improving as a player.”
