Arsenal are on the lookout for top quality players ahead of next season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push next season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best in the summer to achieve his target.
Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in the summer, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Fresh report emerging from France claim the Gunners are monitoring one of Ligue 1’s most impressive left-backs Jordan Amavi, with the intentions of swooping in for the player this summer.
With Nacho Monreal, 29, not getting any younger despite having his best season to date with Arsenal, Wenger doesn’t really have any other options after Kieran Gibbs.
At just 21-years old, Amavi has collected eight man of the match awards for Nice in the just concluded season alone, and has featured over 70 times for the French club.
A talented young left-back, Amavi has outperformed both Monaco’s Layvin Kurzawa and Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Digne this season, making 166 interceptions, 171 appearances and six blocks in Ligue 1 this year.
The Toulon-born star is sure to have a big future ahead of him and is tipped to make his senior team debut for France soon with his outstanding and consistent performances.
Wenger is known to have an eye for French footballers, especially in his defence, leaving little to doubt over this transfer being a reality this summer.
