Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the Chelsea legend, with a £11million deal on the cards to bring the Czech Republic international across London.
According to the Metro, Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has reportedly confirmed that the club are trying to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Gazidis was present at the unveiling of the club’s 2015/16 kit, where is he understood to have told members of ArsenalFanTV that Arsenal are in talks with both Chelsea and Cech.
According to the programme, the Arsenal chief confirmed that the club are trying to get a deal for Cech over the line, but that talks are at a delicate stage.
Wenger has at his disposal David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny, but is desperate to bring in a more experienced Cech to the Emirates Stadium.
The 33-year-old shot stopped has also been linked with a host of other top clubs both in the Premier League and across Europe, with Manchester United and PSG both reportedly keen, to mention a few.
