Arsenal have been handed a major transfer boost to land vital summer target.
The Gunners can now swoop in for long time target Karim Benzema.
According to popular Spanish media outlet AS, Arsenal have been cleared to complete the transfer of Real Madrid star striker Benzema.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Benzema in recent weeks, and the report says the Gunners can now swoop in for their target, with news that Madrid new boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly keen on Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.
The report also claim the Spanish giants have exhausted their financial allowance for the year and have been told they must sell to buy; hence the sale of the Frenchman sanctioned to fund the move for the Argentine.
This situation has placed Arsenal in pole position to finally land their man this summer, with Wenger reportedly ready to splash the cash to bring the 27-year-old to the Emirates Stadium.
Benzema currently earns £150,000-a-week and would reportedly cost the Gunners above £25 million to acquire his services.
The striker scored 22 goals in 45 appearances for Madrid last season and is also a target for Manchester United.
