Arsenal could be set for a shock swap transfer this summer if reports are to be believed.
The Gunners are undoubtedly keen to add world class stars to their side this summer, but there are reports also that Arsenal could see themselves sacrifice one of Arsene Wenger’s most trusted defenders to accomplish their goal.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are reportedly considering using Laurent Koscielny as a makeweight to complete the transfer of Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
It was earlier reported that Rafa Benitez is strongly keen on landing the Arsenal defender, and had promised to bring the Frenchman to the Bernabeu when he is made Madrid boss.
According to Fresh reports, the Spanish giants have exhausted their financial allowance for the year and have been told they must sell to buy; hence the sale of Benzema sanctioned.
Wenger on the other hand is reportedly lining up an offer for Benzema, 27, and the Daily Star claim Koscielny could be used as a means to completing a deal for the French striker.
Koscielny, 29, signed a new contract last summer but, just like former team-mate Thomas Vermaelen, 29, he may well be tempted by life in La Liga.
Arsenal fans, should Wenger sanction the sale of Koscielny to land Benzema?
