Arsenal are reportedly set to do all it takes to ensure they do not lose key Arsenal star.
Jack Wilshere has been targeted by the Citizens.
Reports according to the Daily Star, claim that the Gunners are set to offer Wilshere a significantly improved contract and weekly wages to ward off interests from money bags Manchester City.
The England international has been added to the summer transfer wish-list of the Citizens, as they look to increase their quota of home-grown players ahead of next season, after losing James Milner to Liverpool recently on a free transfer.
The money bags watched Milner exit the Etihad Stadium despite offering the 30-year-old a significantly increased weekly wage, and have since switched their attention to capturing 23-year-old Wilshere.
The report however, claimed Wilshere is keen to remain at the Emirates Stadium, but he is growing increasingly concerned about the number of first-team opportunities he will get next season.
Arsenal have now moved quickly to offer Wilshere in excess of £100,000-a-week, and have reportedly told him he his an indispensable member of the team.
