Arsenal are on the lookout for world class stars this summer, but will also be looking to lose a few players as well, to free up space and funds going into the transfer window.
Arsenal’s German forward Lukas Podolski is set to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer after a three-season stint with the north London club.
Podolski was reportedly on his way to Turkey, after Istanbul club Galatasaray agreed a deal with Arsenal for the Germany international.
Podolski, who went out on loan to Inter Milan for the second half of last season, only has one year left on his contract at Arsenal, but has spoken openly about staying at the club beyond this summer.
And now Lukas Podolski has confirmed he’s agreed a deal to join Galatasaray from Arsenal after formally asking to leave.
‘I have agreed with Galatasaray,’ he reported to have said.
‘I want to leave.’
Arsenal are reportedly set to receive just £2.1million for the 30-year-old forward, who is on wages of over £100,000-a-week.
