The transfer saga of one of Arsenal’s most rumoured summer target has continue to drag with fresh reports of bookies slashing odds in favour of the Gunners which has led many to believe that a deal may actually be on the cards.
According to fresh reports, bookmarkers have slashed odds on Morgan Schneiderlin signing for Arsenal.
Wenger is set to add to his squad this summer and has reportedly shortlisted several players to bring to the Emirates Stadium ahead of next season.
One of such players on Wenger wish-list is long time target Schneiderlin, who has been outstanding for Southampton in the last two seasons.
Earlier reports have claimed the Gunners have agreed terms with the 25-year-old Frenchman ahead of a summer move, and despite the midfielder heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent days, the bookies have slashed odds on the transfer going in favour of Arsenal.
Arsenal were 5/1 to be the Frenchman’s next club, but following a large number of bets, Betfair have cut that to make Arsene Wenger’s men odds-on favourites to do business.
‘Schneiderlin has been a wanted man for several transfer windows now,’ said Betfair spokesman Michael Bowers.
‘It seems as though Wenger is trying to force a deal through early to fend off other suitors.’
It has also been reported last week by top journalist that the midfield anchorman will sign for Arsenal in the coming days.
