Arsene Wenger certainly means serious business for next season with reports that Arsenal are willing to go all out for striker Gonzalo Higuain not with-standing Napoli £67million price tag on the striker.
Arsenal are certainly keen on signing the 27-year-old after completing the transfer of Petr Cech from Chelsea.
However Partenopei chief Nicolas Lombardo insists Gonzalo Higuain will not move for less than his release clause of £67m.
‘Napoli are keen to make an official clarification based on some newspapers’ claims in articles about the potential transfer of Higuain,’ said Lombardo.
‘The club stresses that the Argentine has an existing contract clause of €94,736,000 (£67m). No bids below that figure will be accepted, those who want the player will have to match that valuation.’
Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in the summer, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
