Juventus have already lost two influential players from last season’s remarkable treble winning squad as Carlos Tevez rejoined his former side Boca Juniors in Argentina while Andrea Pirlo has since moved over to MLS side New York City FC.
France midfielder Paul Pogba is also set to pitch tent outside Italy with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City as possible destinations.
Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri is desperate to reinforce his side if they are to build on last season’s success – where they got to the finals of the Champions League having rounded up a unique domestic treble, and Ozil is believed to be the ideal replacement for Pirlo, after Mandzukic arrived from Athletico Madrid apparently to replace Tevez.
Arsenal will be very unlikely to let the midfielder go with Manager Arsene Wenger set to hand him his favorite ‘number 10′ role next season.
The Gunners have reiterated that the club is now financially stable and have thus kissed goodbye to the years when they had to sell their best players in other to raise funds for other projects – making Juventus attempted bid a mere “Castle in the Air” wishful thinking.
