Arsenal are set to lose out in signing long time target to Manchester United.
Manchester United are reportedly back in the race to sign Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin after having and initial £20million bid rejected by the Saints.
United appeared to have backed out of the deal after Saints Manager Ronald Koeman suggested they were “not serious” with their offer for the France international:
“We had, two weeks ago, a bid from Manchester United, It wasn’t enough. It wasn’t serious. And no more bids up to today.” Koeman said.
The move however, appears to be back on track as United seem ready to tender an improved bid for the player.
Reports from Sportsmail say a representative of United traveled to the south coast on Wednesday driven in a club vehicle in a bid to thrash out a deal.
The Red Devils are set to Jet out for their pre-season American tour on July 13 and Manager Loius Van Gaal would be hoping that United can wrap up Scheiderlin’s deal on time so he can be part of the trip.
Schneiderlin is touted as a successor to Micheal Carrick.
Arsenal and Liverpool are other Premier league sides reported to be interested in landing the midfielder – who Southampton value at £27m.
