Amidst speculations surrounding his future, Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina has categorically stated his desire to remain at Arsenal and fight for his place in the team despite the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea.

Ospina who represented his country at the Copa America this summer is aware of the stiff competition he is likely to face from the veteran goalie Cech; but has declared that he is not going anywhere stating that being at Arsenal is a “dream come true” for him.

“I want to continue showing my level and everything that I can give the Arsenal,’ Ospina told Spanish newspaper AS.

‘I want to stay.”

“Coming to Arsenal is a dream come true. It is such a great team.”

Cech’s experience at top flight puts him at advantage to immediately become Arsenal’s number one man between the sticks.

But if the Gunners can fend off tempting offers from other clubs vying for Ospina’s services, then 33-year-old Cech would have to be at the top of his game every week or risk losing his place to Ospina – who had similar challenge last season with Wojciech Szczesny before pipping the Polish international to the number one spot.

Everton are the latest side to bid for David Ospina with an offer of £5million reportedly tabled.

It remains to be seen if the gunners would agree to let the Colombian International leave after just one season at the Emirates.
