Arsenal are on the lookout for world class stars this summer, but will also be looking to lose a few players as well, to free up space and funds going into the transfer window
Arsenal left-back Nacho Monreal has emerged as a summer transfer target for Spanish side Athletic Bilbao, according to reports in Spain.
La Liga outfit Bilbao, are said to be lining up a three-year deal for Monreal, and According to popular Spanish tabloid Marca per Metro, their hopes of signing the 29-year-old defender depends on Arsenal’s willingness to let him go and sign a new left-back this summer.
Monreal enjoyed sufficient playing time last season and was part of the Gunners unchanged starting line-up for 5 successive Premier League games towards the end of the campaign – the first time Arsenal have done that in 21years.
Bilbao are closely monitoring Monreal’s situation at Arsenal, with the Gunners reportedly linked with a €12million move for Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam, – who is also a target for French giants PSG, as a possible replacement for the former Osasuna and Malaga star.
