Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has sustained another calf injury as the Gunners continue their preparations for the new season.
The Spanish midfielder has been out of action since suffering a calf strain against Borussia Dortmund in the group stages of the Champions League last November.
However, it is believed that his latest injury setback is not related to that which ruled him out for the better part of last season, according to The Times per The Express.
The 33-year-old joined the rest of the Arsenal squad for pre-season training but was not part of the Gunners 4-0 victory over Singapore Select XI as he was not fit to play.
The skipper only recently signed a one year contract extension with the Gunners despite his continued injury troubles.
Arsenal fans, should Wenger rely on Arteta as back up to Francis Coquelin in the defensive midfield area for Arsenal in the coming season?
