Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push next season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best in the summer to achieve his target.
19-year-old Alex Iwobi was very impressive in the Barclays Asia Trophy, and the boss has praised him saying his performance against a Singapore Select XI fits “very well” into Arsenal team’s natural game.
5’9 tall forward man has really improved says Wenger and he is please with his development; he is one of a number of youngsters who could play in the Emirates cup this weekend.
“The first name that comes to mind [to play] is certainly Chuba Akpom because he has done well on tour,” the manager said. “Maybe two or three more will feature, certainly Alex Iwobi will be very close to making the team for these games as well.
“I like [Iwobi’s] team attitude, his movement. We have a game based on movement and speed, and he integrates that very well.
“He has good power and is usually efficient – he scores goals a lot – and he had two good chances against Singapore. He missed them but usually he is capable of scoring.”
