Arsenal have been urged by Sergi Samper’s father to complete the move for the high rated defensive midfielder.
This report is according to popular Spanish media outlet El Confidencial per the Metro, who claim the father of the Barcelona youngster has contacted the Gunners in a bid to convince the north London club to sign his son this summer.
This report is coming following earlier claims of Arsenal showing keen interest in signing the 20-year-old defensive midfielder, with the Gunners reportedly prepared to meet Barcelona’s £8.4million valuation of the player.
Samper who has grown frustrated playing for the Barcelona’s B team was among three young Spaniards from Barcelona La Masia academy, who visited Arsenal’s training ground in 2011, but he decided against joining the Gunners, while the other two – Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin made the switch to north London.
And now, El Confidencial says both Samper and his family regret that decision, and are ready to jump at their latest opportunity to join Arsenal this summer, with the player’s father taking a huge step by contacting the Gunners.
