The Gunners are on the lookout for top quality players ahead of next season.
Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their chase for Julian Draxler after news broke that Schalke has rejected Juventus’ £15.6million bid for the midfielder.
According to reports, Schalke have rejected Juventus bid for their playmaker Julian Draxler and bluntly told them he is “not for sale” and also warned them “not to contact them again” after rejecting their bid of £15.6million.
Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt had this to say,
“We’ve received an offer from Juventus today, but have rejected it and request the club do not contact us again, Draxler is not for sale,” he said.
“We have checked the offer, which was out of the question for us.”
This report is coming following earlier claims that the high rated midfielder has agreed terms with the Serie A winners on a £50,000-a-week deal.
But Arsenal have been handed renewed hopes to sign the 21-year-old star who has been a long term target for Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with the German in the last three transfer windows but have continually been put off with the huge buy-out clause slapped on Draxler’s head.
And although Arsenal are currently stocked with midfielders of his kind, a bid in the region of £25million will reportedly be enough to sign him from Schalke.
