Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push next season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best in the summer to achieve his target.
Long time Arsenal target Dennis Praet is set to complete a move to West Brom from Anderlecht, according to the Metro.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who came close to joining Arsenal in 2011, has built up a good reputation for himself in an Anderlecht team that has produced talents such as Romelu Lukaku and Alexandre Mitrovic.
His talent has not gone unnoticed in Europe with the likes of Liverpool, Southampton, Everton and West Brom also monitoring the Belgian international.
But reports in Belgium now say West Brom have taken the first step and now lead the race after tabling an offer in the region of £7.7 million.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of this summer and has made Praet a priority transfer target.
Anderlecht are reportedly holding out for a higher fee like they did in the transfer of Lukaku to Chelsea a few years ago.
But with the player now keen on moving to England, following the number of Premier League clubs vying for his signature, Anderlecht are likely to reduce their initial £10.5 million valuation.
