Arsenal have been handed a major boost to finally complete the signing of long time target this summer.
According to reports, Schalke boss Andre Breitenreiter has revealed that the club could be forced to sell midfield star Julian Draxler to Arsenal this summer, should the Gunners table a ridiculous bid for the German.
Draxler who has been a long term target for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, was close to sealing a move last week to Serie A champions Juventus.
However, the deal broke down with both clubs failing to agree on a fee for the talented midfielder, with reports claiming the Bundesliga club have now pulled out of further negotiations with the 2014/2015 Champions League finalists.
But Schalke boss insists the door still remains open for interested clubs such as Arsenal to swoop in for the Germany international, albeit a “brutal offer”.
‘I want to keep him 100% but I do not know what will happen if we receive a brutal offer,’ Breitenreiter told Bild.
Arsenal have been struck with news of injury to midfielder Wilshere and could replace the 23-year-old England international with 21-year-old German central attacking midfielder this summer.
