According to reports making the rounds, Arsenal officially announced Nigerian Youngster Alex Iwobi has extended his contracted at the Emirates.
The Youngster is in line to get his first National team debut this week, Iwobi mostly playes for the U-21 side and he was impressive over the pre-season.
The 19-year-old scored his first senior goal during the pre-season as he was part of the squad that traveled to Singapore for the Emirates Cup, his first goal was against French side Lyon.
Arsenal official website reports that Iwobi is a graduate of the Arsenal Academy who first joined the Gunners while he was in primary school.
Iwobi told Arsenal official website he is delighted to have extended his stay at the emirates.
“I’m delighted to have signed a new contract, especially with a club like Arsenal who are so big,” he told Arsenal.com. “I’m happy to sign for them.
“I like to think I have earned it. I have gone through a lot with Arsenal so to have a new and improved contract is very good and I’m happy to have earned it.
“I have had ups and downs. As I was growing up I had a lot of downs but as I get older things just keep getting better and better.
“The ultimate goal is to break into the first team and play as many games as I can.”
