Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out by Chile manager Jorge Sampaoli.
He confirmed Sanchez has an injury problem that may rule him out of his country’s world cup 2018 qualifier with Brazil.
The 26-year-old picked up a groin problem last weekend League game against Manchester united where the Chilean international scored two first hold goals to give the Gunner a much deserved win over the Red Devils.
This comes as a big blow as the Chilean international has been seen at his best in recent weeks, Sampaoli confirmed that Sanchez’s fitness issues may well rule him out of his next qualifiers game against Brazil.
‘They are both in the same condition. I cannot confirm at this stage if either will be fit to face Brazil,’ he told reporters.
‘Of course, they are very valuable to us but I am confident that if they are not available we have the squad to be competitive against Brazil or Peru.’
