Chelsea could be beaten to the signature of January target Isco after it was revealed that Arsenal are working on a £22 million deal to sign Real Madrid’s midfielder Isco, according to reports.
Isco has long been linked with a switch to north London, with Arsenal boss a keen admirer of the Spanish international.
It is also reported that league rivals Chelsea are also very keen on the Real Madrid playmaker as the Blues chief Roman Abramovich is personally keen on bringing the 23 year old to Stamford Bridge.
The blues have struggled to create chances this season and the squad looking so disjointed, and now Mourinho is looking for a midfielder who can get the team ticking on the pitch.
According to Fichajes, Arsenal are working extremely hard on a deal for the Spanish midfielder as they look to add a different dimension to their attack.
It is not known where the Spanish midfielder would fit in at Arsenal with Ozil and Sanchez in great form for the Gunners, but it is believed that if the Spanish international was to move to West London, he would replace Brazilian playmaker Oscar.
Arsenal are reportedly working on a £22m deal for Isco, although it is believed that Madrid’s valuation of the player is much higher than Roman Abramovich’s £30m offer.
Isco joined Real Madrid in 2013 after a wonderful season at Malaga and hasn’t really been a first choice midfielder at the Spanish capital.
