Arsene Wenger revealed the Costa Rican striker almost left the club in summer as he was unhappy avout being sent on loan for 4 seasons.
The 23-years-old got his first start for the Gunners and even a goal to give to give the Gunners a well 3-o win to remain at the level points with Manchester City ar top of the League table.
Wenger said: “I’m very happy for him. He has waited a long time.
“He wanted to leave because he wasn’t playing. You can understand that.
“But I didn’t let him go because I felt he was a guy who has the quality.
“He is still young and is a team-worker. I’m so happy that he scored.
“People always want you to buy more and more players, but then you end up with a few who don’t play.
“I have always said, when you get the chance, you’ve got to take it. That’s what he’s done.”
