After mid-weeks thumped which ended 5-1 in favour of Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out Bellerin from Sunday’s derby crunch fixture.
Center-back Koscielny could return to the starting XI on Sunday but the Gunners will be without right-back Hector Bellerin.
Koscielny was part of Wenger’s team who traveled with the squad but he wasn’t introduced into the game due to hip problem.
“Koscielny may be back but Bellerin is ruled out already,” Wenger told his pre-match media conference.
Wenger also talked about mid-week game, he had this to say :
“When you play against Bayern they are Bayern,” he said. “I watched the game again and not a lot has changed since my analysis after the game.
“I believe we created a high number of chances but we had not our usual defensive performance. Especially on the first two goals.
“They are maybe the best team in Europe but if we’d had our usual defensive performance we could have repeated our performance [from Arsenal’s 2-0 win over the German champions last month].”
With so many injury problem it is only logical Wenger is paying the price for not making use of the transfer window and we could suffer another defeat this week if out first team players are not available.
