Arsenal are reportedly on the lookout for top quality players ahead of the January transfer window.
Former Chelsea target William Carvalho re-emerges on Arsene Wenger transfer shopping list following injury to Coquelin.
The injury to Francis Coquelin is set to force Arsene Wenger to spend in the winter transfer window as the gunners boss eye a defensive midfielder.
After returning from his loan spell in December last year, Coquelin became an important member of the gunners squad, and has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the premier league in the year 2015.
The midfielder injured his knee ligaments on saturday against West Brom which will ruled him out of action until february and Arsene wenger is keen to bring in a defensive midfielder to cover for the absence of coquelin.
Arsene wenger has long been interested in Carvalho with the French man reportedly tabling a bid of £20million last summer for the portuguese defensive midfielder.
The 23 year old has previously claimed he would love to play for Arsene Wenger’s side because he is a fan of Arsenal.
“I am where I want to be right now, which is Sporting, but if I ever do leave then it’s a sign that my work here was well done,” he told Portuguese outlet A Bola. “I dream of winning the Primeira Liga here.
“I prefer not to say too much, but there is a club with which I’ve always been fond of: Arsenal. Because of Thierry Henry, a player with whom I have always enjoyed watching.
“Maybe this is why I look with so much affection to the Premier League.”
A move for the midfielder in January might see the 23 year old realize his dream of playing for the Gunners.
