Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he held talks to sign Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman before he joined Juventus.
Coman has been one of the breakthrough stars of this season, sparling for Bayern while on loan from Juventus.
But Wenger has revealed he nearly joined the Gunners while at Paris St. Germain before eventually opting to move to Juventus. Bayern have the option to sign Coman permanently at the end of his loan spell, and based on his stunning form this season, that looks certain.
This is not the first time Arsene Wenger would be stating he almost signed a player after the player has become a mega star. I t would be recalled that the Gunners boss claimed he almost signed world player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo when he was still a teen at Sporting Lisbon but opted not to and later United signed the Portuguese and he became one of the best players ever to grace the game.
Swedish super star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was another player Arsene Wenger had the chance to sign but rather wanted the player to come for trials first before signing the striker; Ibrahimovic turned down the offer and later became one of the deadliest striker around, playing for top clubs all over the world like Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and now Paris St. Germaine.
Wenger needs a player like Coman especially with injuries to many of his wide men; but it seems highly unlikely that the Gunners boss would get his wish as Bayen already see Coman as successor to Arjen Robben.
