Arsenal are lining up a shock January move for Crystal palace midfielder James McArthur, according to reports. McArthur has been in excellent form for the eagles since moving from Wigan in 2014, although he is not one of the most fashionable players around, but that has not put off Arsene Wenger’s interest in the Scots Man as Arsenal are planning to snap him up during the January transfer window.
It is claimed McArthur is on the radar and Gunners scouts have delivered glowing scouting reports on his progress. The 28 years old would cost around £10 Million pounds. McArthur has featured 15 times for Crystal Palace in all competitions this season with 2 goals and 2 assist to his credit.
McArthur moved from Scottish club Hamilton Academicals to join Wigan Athletic in 2010 and was part of the victorious Wigan team that lifted the FA Cup in 2013 under Roberto Martinez by defeating Manchester City 1-0 in Wembley stadium to win the club’s first major trophy in their 81 years old history before the team later went to relegation that same year.
McArthur is a gifted player, but his playing time would be limited at the Emirates as the Gunners possess an array of talents in the midfield position, and with less playing time; his progress would be hampered. So staying at Crystal Palace and fulfilling his potentials would be a better option.
