Fresh reports have emerged claiming one of Arsene Wenger’s long term target has given Arsenal the much needed boost to finally get his signature in January.
20-year-old Adrien Rabiot who is desperately in search of first team action has told Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi he wants a loan move in the January transfer window.
Rabiot told Telefoot: ‘I’ve asked the president for a loan move in January if my time on the field is insufficient.
‘It’s something that he can’t refuse me – I know he likes me very much.
‘When you train all week, you want to be on the field. Sometimes it’s not possible and it’s frustrating.
‘Paris is my city. It’s great to play here. If I could impose myself here, it would be brilliant. I would be ready to play my whole career at PSG if I was a starter.
‘I would see things differently, that’s for sure.’
Rabiot, compared to all Arsenal midfielders, is of a different crop. He is able to play as a defensive midfielder and can equally be pushed a little further in the box-to-box role. With a frame that is just an inch off Yaya Toure (he might still add some proteins considering he’s just 19), he will offer the Gunners a presence in the middle of the park which will not easily be shoved away. He also is a good passer of the ball, and is always ready to take the ball off players under pressure.
However the Gunners will have to face tough competition from fellow North Londoners Tottenham who are also keen on signing him in January.
