Liverpool have joined the race to sign highly rated English fullback Ben Chilwell, according to the Telegraph.
The defender is currently spending the season on loan at Huddersfield Town and he has impressed with his performances for the Championship side.
Scouts from Liverpool and Arsenal have been watching the defender for sometime and the Reds are keen to challenge the Gunners for the defender’s signature, says the Telegraph.
The defender made his first team debut for Leceister City in the Foxes Capital One Cup 5-4 penalty defeat to Hull City earlier in the season.
The defender has captained the England U20 team on several occasions and was recently called up to the U21 squad.
The defender is a product of Leceister’s City academy, he won the Leceister City academy player of the year last season due to his superb performances for the foxes under 21 team last season.
Chilwell has been previously monitored by Manchester United and Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail but Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will be hoping to beat their rivals to the defender’s signature.
