Arsenal are reportedly on the lookout for top quality players ahead of the January transfer window.
North London Rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are going head to head in the race to win the signature of Michy Batshuayi, according to the Daily Star.
The young forward has scored on his first two international appearances for Belgium after earning his full call-up following a prolific first season at Marseille. The powerful 22-year-old striker has the same qualities as his fellow Belgian strikers – Christian Benteke and Romelu Lukaku – but he is two-footed, far quicker off the mark and possesses a deftness of touch to go with an ability to beat a defender with a trick.
The Daily Star claims Mauricio Pochettino is interested in signing a striker and Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to beat Arsenal to the signature of the 22 year old.
Spurs sent scouts to watch £15million-rated Batshuayi play against Rennes last week and it is believed that they will test Marseille with an early bid when the transfer market opens in January for the striker in a bid to secure back-up for Harry Kane, as per the Daily Mail.
Getting him might however involve a bidding war as the paper claims the Gunners also sent their scout, Gilles Grimandi, to watch Batshuayi face Rennes in the 1-0 win for Marseille.
