Real Madrid will make an attempt to resign Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, according to the Metro.
The midfielder is currently having a superb season at the Emirates and his form has attracted the interest of the club that sold him in the summer of 2013.
The German international joined the Gunners for a whooping £42.3m from Real Madrid, although he started his Arsenal career slowly but the 27 year old has been one of the league’s best players this season.
According to the Metro, Real Madrid will try to resign Mesut Ozil should they lose James Rodriguez next summer.
The Colombian is reportedly not happy at Real Madrid as a result of his poor relationship with current Madrid boss Rafa Benitez. The Colombian playmaker has already set his sights on a move to Chelsea and the Spanish giants are reportedly interested in bringing Ozil back to the Bernabeu should Rodriguez leaves.
The report also claims that Madrid hierarchy thinks the German international is playing the best football of his career this season and will be willing to do whatever it takes to bring him back to the Bernabeu.
Arsenal are reportedly close to agreeing a new contract with the 27 year old worth up to £51.5million and will likely reject all advances from Real Madrid concerning the midfielder, as per the Metro.
