Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of
the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.
Arsenal are considering making a move for Shakhtar Dontesk full back Darijo Srna, according to reports.
According to the Metro via Russian publication Istvestia, Arsenal are interested in signing the fullback as they look to bring in an experienced defender into their squad who will act as a back up to Hector Belerin.
According to the report, the Gunners are in search of a right back after Matthieu Debuchy revealed he could leave the club in January and Wenger has identified Srna as a possible replacement for the 30 year old French international.
Srna, 33, has been at Shakhtar Dontesk since 2003 and has amassed over 300 league appearances for the Ukrainian outfit. The defender’s contract at Shakhtar expires at the end of this season.
The Superb form of Belerin is set to force Debuchy out of the club, Belerin broke into the Gunners first xi in 2014 and has since then refused to let his performances drop. The former Barcelona La Masia defender is set to own the left back spot at Arsenal for a long time and Wenger is keen to bring in an experienced defender as his back up.
