Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.
Arsenal are interested in signing young midfield star Marcelo Brozovic in the upcoming winter transfer window and have made contact with Inter Milan over his transfer, according to the Metro.
The Metro claims the midfielder who is currently on loan at Inter from Dynamo Zagreb will make permanent his move for around €10 million and then be quickly sold by the Italian giants to the London club for around €14million.
The youngster, 23, dubbed the ‘Croatian Xavi’ has caught the attention of Arsene Wenger with his impressive performances for club and country over the last 12 months. His addition to the Gunners midfield is seen by Wenger as crucial, as he sees him as a player capable of truly filling the gapping hole in Arsenal’s midfield caused by the departure of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona over 5 years ago.
The urgency of the deal is however thought to be the long term injuries suffered by first team pair Santi Carzola and Francis Coquelin, the frustrating and consistent injuries picked up by other midfields Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey makes the deal a no brainer.
Chelsea have also been linked with a move to sign the Croatian international. Brozovic has scored 2 goals in 25 games since joining Inter Milan on loan.
