Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.
Nigerian starlet Victor Osimhen has confirmed that he will visit Arsenal, as the Gunners holds a “strong” interest in signing him, in an interview with Football Live.
Osimhen is a hot property after scoring 10 goals in seven matches to fire Nigeria to victory in the recently concluded U17 World Cup in Chile.
The striker who is a product of Ultimate Strikers Academy is now facing a two way battle to either join Arsenal or North London Rivals Tottenham Hotspurs. The Metro reports that nine major European clubs have since made approaches for his signature, while Tottenham had apparently agreed a deal to sign him.
However, both Wolfsburg, Tottenham and Arsenal are competing for Osimhen’s signature once he turns 18.
He said of the interest from Europe: “I spoke with the [Wolfsburg] coach who also made several promises and if I eventually choose to sign for them, I hope they’ll keep their word.
“But I have not decided where to go yet because Arsenal are also showing strong interests and perhaps after my visit to the club, I will have a clear view of where I want to go.”
