Star snubs Arsenal and pen new deal at club
According to reports doing the rounds, Arsenal’s chances of securing Napoli midfielder Jorginho have been ended after as he has put pen to paper to extend his stay at the club.
“In June we had offers to leave, but (sporting director Cristiano) Giuntoli and (coach Maurizio) Sarri immediately put their trust in him,” his agent Joao Santos said.
“Napoli for life? Napoli have a similar philosophy to Barcelona, buy players at around 21 and improve them so you can reap the rewards five years down the line.”
Jorginho arrived from Hellas Verona in January 2014 for €9.5m the deal was announced this evening on their official website.
The midfielder added two years to his existing contract and he was also given an improvement in wages.
