Arsenal are on the lookout for world class stars in winter, but will also be looking to lose a few players as well, to free up space and funds going into the transfer window.
Arsenal are prepared to allow French defender, Mathieu Debuchy to leave for Italian side AS Roma in the January transfer window, according to reports. The 30 year old is reportedly frustrated over the lack of playing time at the Emirates since recovering from a long term injury.
Debuchy join the Gunners from Newcastle United for £10 Million after the experienced defender stayed with the Magpies for just 18 months, making 46 appearances for the St James Club. Debuchy has struggled to get back into the Arsenal first team squad since losing his spot due to long term; as his replacement, young Spanish defender; Hector Bellerin is now the preferred choice for the right back position at the Emirates.
The Frenchman is now seeking a move aay in the January transfer window as Roma are reportedly keen to land the experienced right back. French giants Paris St. Germain are also interested in the players services but Roma seem to be leading the chase.
Bellerin has done fantastically well in Debuchy’s absence and it would be difficult for Debuchy to clinch back that spot; so a move away would be his best option as he needs to get more playing time to bosst his chances of representing France in the European Championships being hosted by him homeland in 2016.
