Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club
linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
AS Roma are turning out to be the rest place for underperforming Arsenal players, with reports having it that they are ready to make a move for Arsenal’s French right back Mathieu Debuchy after signing goal keeper Wojiech Szceczny on loan at the start of this season.
Debuchy, 30 who signed for Arsenal last season from Newcastle has had a torrid time at the Emirates, after injuries limited his first team participation last season, and the emergence of Hector Bellerin and his loss of form consigning him to the bench.
With the Euro 2016 approaching, Mathieu Debuchy knows that his chances at representing France at the tournament are getting slimmer, and knows that only more game time will guarantee him a place in the French national team squad at that tournament.
Bellerin’s form means that Debuchy is unlikely to get playing time, the Frenchman has conceded that he would have to leave the club to get playing time, and Roma have indicated interest. The nature of the deal is yet to be known, it might be a temporary or a permanent move.
