Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Arsenal are interested in signing young midfield star Youssef Ait Bennasser from French Ligue 2 side As Nancy. The Gunners having scouted the talented youngster for some time are exploring the possibility of bringing the Moroccan to the Emirates, according to Talksport.
Bennasser, 19, is highly rated by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. The youngster’s stock has grown rapidly since making his professional debut for the Ligue 2 side on 3 August 2015 against Tours FC.
He is regarded as one of the players of last year in Ligue 2 thus far and it is his ability to keep the ball and bring others into play, a trait very much admired by Wenger himself, that has got tongues wagging about his potential.
It is believed in North London that this year presents the best opportunity yet for Arsenal to win the league title again after 11years as the Gunners sit at the top of the table two points clear with more than half of matches already played. No one recognises that more than the manager himself who agreed he would be busy in this winter window.
“I’ll be busy, that’s for sure,” he replied when asked about his January transfer business. “I’m already busy and I said already one month ago we are a bit short to deal with all the competitions we face, especially in midfield. We will be busy, yes.”
With history pointing to the fact that the Arsenal boss always loves a bargain from France, we could expect Bennasser to be plying his trade at the Emirates in no time.
