Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will make at least one new singing in this winter transfer window, via the Express.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of players as they look to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
The Gunners have suffered long term injuries to two of their midfielders and are now set to bolster their midfield options in this window.
Wenger had previously admitted that he is short of options at the middle of the pitch and he will be looking to do something concerning that area.
Wenger has now claimed he will make at least just one signing this month.
“Ideally, I would like first our injuries to come back. After that, I think at least one [new signing],” Wenger said.
“We have still players with a lack of experience in midfield, like [Calum] Chambers, [Alex] Iwobi, [Jeff] Reine-Adelaide, [Joseph] Willock. They can all play, but at the moment, because there is so much at stake, it is very difficult to get the young players to start, but they have the quality.”
From the manager’s comments, it looks like signing a midfielder is his top priority and that is most likely due to the fact that he has just Matthieu Flamini as his only fit defensive midfielder.
Arsenal currently top the premier league table.
