Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Arsenal have announced they have completed the signing of Liverpool ladies midfielder, Fara Williams.
Fara, 31, completed her move to Arsenal on Tuesday and she is now the third new player the Gunners have brought in this month.
The midfielder was elated on completing the move to North London and claimed the move to Arsenal was “meant to be”, as per the Gunner’s official website.
Speaking in her first interview with the club, the player said:
“Pedro has made me feel great as a player.”
“He has told me the qualities I can bring and, as a player, if you have manager that is showing that trust in you and the qualities he thinks you can bring, it really shows that element of confidence that I need.
“Certainly when I first met him, he really made me feel like this is a club I need to be at. This [move] could have happened for me 10 years ago but through many different decisions I decided to go a different way. I think this is meant to be.
“I had an opportunity to come to this club and went other ways and it has brought me back, so definitely I think it is the place to be.”
Fara is the England international with the highest number of appearances for the England female football national team.
At 31 years of age, her wealth of experience will be a very useful tool to the Gunners ladies.
