Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Arsenal Legend Ian Wright has urged his club to make a January transfer bid for Everton defender John Stones, according to reports.
Stones, 21, is highly rated in England and he is being regarded as the heir to the likes of John Terry and Rio Ferdinard and has attracted lots of admiration for his super performances for the Toffees.
Chelsea were interested in the defender last summer and had 3 bids rejected for the 21 year old as Everton were adamant the will not be selling their prized asset.
Manchester United has also been linked with the defender and it was reported that the Red Devils are preparing a £50m bid for the defender next summer as they aim to fix their defense that has been depleted by injuries for the major part of the season.
Manchester City have also been linked with the defender but it is Chelsea who has a concrete interest in the 21 year old with the Blues reportedly preparing a £50m bid for the defender’s services in January, as per the Daily Star.
And now Arsenal Legend Ian Wright has asked his darling club to join the race for the defender and sign the 21 year old.
He said: “I think Stones could play in a top team in any country. He is the kind of ball-playing defender Wenger would like. Would I love to see him there [Arsenal]? Of course I would.”
